The Palisade is Hyundai’s flagship SUV and sits in a shrinking category: large three-row family cars that aren’t utes underneath. The appeal is straightforward — a third row that adults can actually sit in, a boot that still works with all eight seats up, and a cabin that’s quieter than the price suggests.
It’s the car people land on when the mid-size SUV stopped being big enough and a people-mover feels like a step too far. Long-distance family driving is where it makes the most sense.
What to think about
Grade matters more than usual here. The step up through the range changes the seat trim, the sound system and the driver-assistance package, and it also changes whether you get seven seats with a middle-row bench or eight with captain’s chairs. If you’re carrying six adults regularly, that choice is worth more than any option box.
Front-wheel drive is fine for the vast majority of buyers. All-wheel drive is worth it if you tow, or if you’re regularly on gravel.
How we price it
Tell us the grade and the colour you’re after — or tell us two grades and we’ll quote both, so you can see what the difference actually costs before you decide. We buy through dealer fleet departments rather than the showroom floor, and we check real availability, so you’re not quoted a car that’s six months away.
The number that comes back is a single drive-away figure: 12 months registration, all government charges, and any accessories you’ve asked for. Nothing is payable to us — the dealer’s fleet department pays our fee.
